The Awkward Questions Age

No, it's not a song title...but it's a thought I had this morning. Eilis is now at the age where she is beginning to ask those questions. I can cope with 'Mammy, what are them things?' pointing at various body parts, but I'm now waiting for the 'Mammy, why has that lady got a moustache?' and other such questions, especially loudly, and in public. I now intend to document them and use them against her when she accuses me of embarrassing her in her teenage years, which is inevitable. The circle of life.

Yesterday she asked our neighbours (who are Tony's aunt and uncle, incidentally) 'why do you not have a child?' I wasn't there. Tony said he was puce and didn't know where to look. Thankfully they said that they hadn't been blessed by God and she accepted that and didn't go any further. More to come, no doubt, and she's only 3.
